Banja Luka

Banja Luka area is characterized by the mountains of medium height, such as Manjaca, Osmaca, Tisovac and Cemernica. Cultural and natural heritage, a gentle terrain and preserved nature provide ideal conditions for hiking and a better understanding of the environment.
In the area of Banja Luka, there are several tourist trails for hiking:

Cemernica (20km, 6 hours)
Cemernica is the highest mountain in the area of Banja Luka, with the height of 1349m. From the top of the mountaion you have a magnificent view of the river Vrbas, valley and the canyon of the river Vrbas, Manjaca and other mountains and hills in the area. The start of the trail is in the small town of Bocac which is 25km from Banja Luka. The trail goes all the way through the forest and the terrain is rock, gravel, earth and grass. Hiking to the top takes up to 3 hours, and if necessary longer rest stops and slower pace are possible. On top of Cemernica there is a mountain hut where we rest, and take photos and enjoy the unique view that stretches from the mountain. After a good rest, we descent to the foot of the mountain and after a short break, we return to Banja Luka. The trail is rated as moderately difficult, but we recommend that you set aside one full day for this walk to enjoy the charms of this beautiful mountain.
