Visit Krupa na Vrbasu

The water mills and the cascades of the Krupa river represent a real attraction for all the visitors to this tiny village. There is a sculpture colony held annually which gathers the artists from all over the world. They are all motivated by miraculous power of nature for their creation. 
We start from Banja Luka at the scheduled time and drive along the beautiful river Vrbas. Our tour starts with the cascades and mills on the river Krupa where you can buy fresh domestic flour and then we go to the spring of the river Krupa and Strikas cave. We finish our tour at the monastery in Krupa which dates from XIV century. Before we leave to Banja Luka we will visit the old cabin log church.

Hiking up Cemernica

Cemernica is the highest mountain in the area of Banja Luka, with the height of 1349m. From the top of the mountaion you have a magnificent view of the river Vrbas, valley and the canyon of the river Vrbas, Manjaca and other mountains and hills in the area. The start of the trail is in the small town of Bocac which is 25km from Banja Luka. The trail goes all the way through the forest and the terrain is rock, gravel, earth and grass. Hiking to the top takes up to 3 hours, and if necessary longer rest stops and slower pace are possible. On top of Cemernica there is a mountain hut where we rest, and take photos and enjoy the unique view that stretches from the mountain. After a good rest, we descent to the foot of the mountain and after a short break, we return to Banja Luka. 
The trail is rated as moderately difficult and it is 20km long, around 6 hours of walking, but we recommend that you set aside one full day for this walk to enjoy the charms of this beautiful mountain.

Note: Hiking trips are organised every day and we depart from Banja Luka before noon. We have a pleasant ride along the beautiful river Vrbas. For this trip you need comfortable shoes, hiking shoes if possible, food and water and if you want we can arrange everything for you.

Trip to Balkana

We leave from Banja Luka in the morning hours. We drive across the beautiful mountain Manjaca  to the etno park where we will take a short break to visit the authentic ethno house and taste home made rakia, kajmak, fritters and bacon. We will continue our trip to the picnic area Balkana where you will enjoy beautiful nature with two large lakes. Also there are hiking trails and famous „mushroom roads“, boats for renting, picnic and barbecue areas and a restaurant where you can try some of the traditional local specialties. The temperature of the water in the lakes can go over 20 degrees Celzius during the summer so you can go swimming.
In the afternoon we will leave for Banja Luka and drive through the canyon of the beautiful river Vrbas where you will get a chance to see the remains of the fortresses Bocac and Greben. Also we will take a short break on the viewpoint over the lake Bocac to take a photo and then we continue to Banja Luka.

National Park Kozara

Mountain Kozara, surrounded by the rivers Sava, Sana, Una and Vrbas, is located in northwestern part of Bosnia and Herzegovina. With its height, the vastness, beauty and rich history Kozara dominates this part of Bosnia and Herzegovina. This mountain is also known as "Krajiška beauty" because of its dense complex of deciduous and coniferous forests, hills, clear streams and rich flora and fauna. Natural values ​​of this area have been recognized even two hundred years ago. 
The first written information about the Kozara were written by Ami Boue French explorer in his book "La Turque d'Europe" (1842). During the Turkish rule, the Prussian scholar Franz Maurer, was traveling through Bosnia in 1868. He went through the mountainside of Kozara and wrote about the mountain in his travel reports. The first thorough survey of flora of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Kozara mountatin were published by Günter Beck Mannagetta 1903-1927. 
In order to preserve and protect the cultural, historical and natural values, the central part of Kozara, area 3494.5 ha, was declared a national park in the 1967 year. The central part of the National Park Kozara is dominated by Mrakovica plateau (806 m) where many cultural and sports events take place and bring together a large number of visitors to the National Park Kozara. This is also the memorial area where a monument to World War II was erected.
Since it was established, particular attention is paid to the protection of natural resources just so that future generations can enjoy the beauty of the National Park Kozara. 
Distance of Kozara National Park from Banja Luka is 56 km.
